Artificial Intelligence, Biometrics, and Democracy: India's Experience in Global Perspective

AI and biometrics are at the heart of policy debates on the emergence of big data and related governance tools, and India has been both at the forefront of innovation in these areas and the recipient of substantial critiques. With this event, we plan to bring together a mix of area- and subject-matter experts from both academia and the public sector to engage in thoughtful and creative conversations on the complexities of utilizing advanced technologies in democracies.

This conference will also serve as the inaugural India Policy Forum and a primary launch event for Berkeley’s newly created Center on Contemporary India.
